Ah fall, my favorite season!! I can’t contain my excitement for fall this year and I am determined not to let it pass me by without squeezing in all the fun things. Last year was a bit of an epic fail on doing all the fall things, so this year I’m making a list and putting each activity in my planner so it’ll actually happen! I can’t wait to do all the fun family things with Logan this year since he’s at such a fun age of exploring, learning and understanding!
Visit the Pumpkin Patch
Obviously, we must go to a Pumpkin Patch to pick out our pumpkins and snap the obligatory pumpkin + babe pictures! And I’m not letting the hubs talk me into the crappy pumpkin patch by the side of the road this time. I’m hoping to go to one of the big farms that does it up big with apple cider slushies for mama and a petting zoo and wagon rides for the little.
Carving is for the birds (and adults). Toddler friendly painting sounds way easier.
Take Family Pictures
I’m actually on my A-game this year and already have these scheduled for early October. Now, to pick out our outfits. Send help.
Trick-or-Treat in the neighborhood
We missed Halloween in our new neighborhood last year since we were at a wedding, so I’m super excited to experience it this year! Our neighborhood is huge and full of lots of kids, so I’m excited to meet some more neighbors and get Logan all dressed up!
Go to Zoo Boo
The Indy Zoo has Zoo Boo every year where the kids dress up in their costumes and they have a trick or treat trail, fun photo ops and activities throughout the zoo. I’ve never been, but since we’re members it’ll be fun to check it out!
Plant spring bulbs
Oy yard work. The joys of home ownership! It’ll be worth it though if I can have lots of tulips, hyacinth and daffodils come spring though!
Explore parks and nature centers
Now that it isn’t hot and humid out we can actually explore some of the parks around us.
Sit by the fire
We purchased a fire pit at the beginning of the summer and have used it a total of…one time. Womp womp. We definitely have to pull it out once it gets cooler!
Go on more date nights
We’ve barely had any dates this summer, so we definitely need to squeeze some in before busy season starts!
Eat all the Fall Things
Chili. Pumpkin muffins. Apple crisp. Pumpkin pie. Apple cider. Chai tea lattes. Crock pot goodies. Gimme.
Wear all the Fall Things
I am itching to get my boots out and of course all my scarves and sweaters. Yay! Down parka and snow boots…you can stay packed away this year.
