We had a fabulous long weekend and I just wish every weekend were 3 days long!
Friday night I picked up sushi to go and we had an evening in. Michael finally conceeded to watching some episodes of Parenthood with me. I’ve been binge watching it lately and am on the second season. Love it.
Saturday Michael was at the Purdue game for the day, so Logan and I had some Logie/Mommy time. We hit up a local consignment store where I stocked up on some pants for winter for Logan and got him a few toys too (including the little wagon above). #Spoiled. I contained him with Curious George until he could take no more shopping. Boys.
Then we headed off to a new-to-us park nearby. I didn’t realize it had a splash/creek area, so Logan was soaked, but loved it. Then we headed home for lunch and naptime. The afternoon and evening was pretty low-key. I made chili because #fall. #basic. Also, since it was September and therefore fall and therefore nearly Halloween I busted out the Little Blue Truck Halloween book for Logan and it was a hit. I almost have it memorized now.
On Sunday we all headed to the zoo in the morning and we had a blast! Logan was really excited and was even saying “zoo” on the way there. He ran to see the bears and was making monkey noises at the baboons. #adorable. I think that was the most excited he’s ever been for a zoo trip. The kid is loving all the animal things these days.
Sunday afternoon my mother in law came up to babysit so Michael and I could go out to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We haven’t been on a date in awhile, so it was much needed and I was very excited! I put on my new ankle booties and my favorite new top and pretended it wasn’t 80 degrees out.
We left around 4:00 and headed to the mall for a little shopping. My anniversary gift this year….a pair of Hunter boots!! Hooray! I was giddy. Can’t wait for it too cool down so I can wear them.
We did some more shopping/browsing and then headed to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for dinner. Steak, lobster mac, brussel sprouts, and chocolate covered strawberries were devoured. It was SO good. We definitely treated ourselves.
After dinner we headed to Connor Prairie for the last Symphony on the Prairie of the season and it was so fun. We got there late and it was packed, so we sat on the very edge, but we had an unobstructed view of sunset over the prairie. Gorgeous view, perfect weather, fun music and cuddling on a blanket. It was the perfect activity to cap off our night. We actually went to Symphony on the Prairie for our first date weekend on Labor Day weekend 7 years ago! So that was fun.
On Monday we went to the pool in the morning since it was the last day it was open for the season. Then, while both boys napped the afternoon away, I did some online shopping. Logan should be set for fall/winter now! Once they woke up we decided to go get froyo and check out a different splash park nearby. That’s Logan in his PJs on his tippy toes at the splash pad. ha!
After that it was dinner, bath and bedtime for Logan and then some Etsy-ing time for mama.
