Friday Things

Hi friends and happy Friday! Hope everyone had a good short week! Just checking in today with a few things.

New York Top of the Rock at Sundown

I got back from my NYC girls trip on Monday afternoon. I posted some quick snaps on Instagram, but I’m still working on a full recap post. Hopefully you’ll see it next week! Someone please remind me not to schedule trips on back to back weekends ever again! While the trips were fun, getting caught up and back into the swing of things is rough! Seriously, my house is a disaster and our fridge looked like that of a bachelor pad the other day.

When I got home on Monday, Michael and I took Logan to a splash pad and it was so fun! Logan wasn’t too sure of it at first, but he was having fun and stealing other people’s beach balls in no time. We’ll definitely be checking out all the splash pads this summer!

Oh What Fun Logan is One. First Birthday4

ICYMI I finally blogged about Logan’s first birthday party on Tuesday. Thank you all for your sweet comments. For some reason, none of the comments came through to my email, so if I haven’t responded to you – that is why! I’m still trying to figure that out, but for now I cannot figure out where they went. Sorry!

And a quick thank you to everyone who has completed my reader survey! Your comments have been really helpful, and I’ve also received some great post ideas that I’ve been working on. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to fill out the survey. I’ll be closing it after this weekend. Thanks!

This weekend we have just a couple of plans – brunch with friends and a company picnic with my work – but the rest of the time I’ll be getting caught up on life and spending some quality time with my people. It’s supposed to rain, but I’m hoping it holds off. I’m dying to plant some things in our yard, but that also seems like a daunting task, because I don’t know much about gardening or landscaping. But I’m dreaming of creating some garden beds with peonies, hydrangea and hostas! Any gardening tips are welcome. :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  • I can’t wait for your nyc recap– it looked like you had such a great time from all of your pictures on instagram! I’m hoping we can fit a peony bush somewhere in our yard for next year– they’re sooo pretty.

  • Ahhhh we are making our first trek of the summer to the splash pad next week! I can’t wait to watch the kids explore it while splashing around. Looks like ya’ll had so much fun while there!! I hope you have a very relaxing weekend!

  • i don’t know anything about gardening either, but my mother in law does, and she’s planted a few things for me. i wanted her to come round this weekend and plant more but it’s supposed to be gross and rainy here too. boo. i can’t imagine the whirlwind of two trips back to back, i just had 2 events on back to back weekends (just saturday nights) and i am exhausted haha. hope you have a relaxing weekend!

  • Brittany! The same exact thing is happening to me with my comments! I contacted bluehost and they gave me a link to an article that they said would fix my problem but I’m not convinced. It also looks super confusing- I’m going to sit down with Jim tonight and see if he can help me. But if not, I’m totally going to have to hire someone to help me out because it is killing me that 90% of my comments are showing up on my blog but not in my email.

ANYWAY. Love the NYC trip, love the splash pad!! Have an awesome weekend!

  • One thing you and I totally have in common is that we both treasure girlfriend time! Love that you’re having brunch this weekend with friends and make time to do that kind of stuff! In my opinion, it’s so important!! Have a fun weekend, friend!

  • What a cute first birthday! And the splash park looks awesome!!! Stopping over from the linkup – hope you can hop by my blog as well!
