I am just dying to bust out my Christmas decorations this year…new house + baby = overexcited decorating mama! We finally have a mantle & fireplace to decorate and we even have a little bit of a stair rail. Eek!
I’m putting the hubs in charge of decorating the outside of the house (a first for both of us this year and I don’t do ladders thank you). Luckily, he’s also really good at ornament placement, but I plan on stepping up my tree decor game this year (although I might have to leave the bottom foot of my tree empty as to not entice the baby). My cheapie artificial tree I bought for $20 right out of college is dying – and shedding baby-choking needles like crazy, so I’m in the market for a new tree this year, too. I typically try to keep my decor fairly classic – I’ve done the neutral golds and silvers with pops of red in the past, but I am loving the woodsy/rustic look this year. Here are some of my inspiration images!
Plaid + chalkboard + black, white, red and rustic accents …be still my heart.
Again loving the buffalo check and colors here. The flocked pieces are a fun touch too! I need to learn how to properly add sprigs to my tree.
I love the black and white gingham ribbon accent. Such an easy way to add some flair!
Love the way they did the ribbon on this tree. I’ve never mastered the ribbon placement, but I might give it a go this year. Here are some good tips for decorating your tree with ribbon. I love the idea of using ribbon as an inexpensive way to tie in more current styles.
Another black and white tree with pops of gold.
